Private Garden Ballincollig

This project is an example of a design and build project for a small suburban garden.  Sometimes the spaces can seem small, with limited opportunities.

Due to the nature of his work, the client was often away from home and he wanted a garden which would not appear neglected in his absence.

We proposed a garden with no grass to keep the maintenance to a minimum and planned a gravel garden in the front and back garden.
The client also wanted a large shed in the back garden.  The position of the windows at the rear of the house meant that the shed couldn’t be disguised from the house.  So, it was decided to make the shed a feature of the space and use it to introduce some bold colour into the garden.

The client also requested a water feature be incorporated into the garden.  We decided to utilise the change in level at the back of the garden to create a short cascade.

The change in level was retained in the front and back garden by railway sleepers.
Upright railway sleepers were also used to create depth and add shape to the space.

The planting was chosen to provide colour and interest throughout the year.
