Private Garden Cork City

This was a design & build project carried out in conjunction with the main contractor on site.
The garden sloped down towards the rear of the house and was shaded by trees located outside the site.  Traffic noise was very audible in the garden.
The design brief was to create a garden that would grow with the family and allow flexibility.

The design aimed to create a garden that would complement the scale and character of the house and reduce the impact of the traffic noise.

The garden was split into two levels to maximise the space and reduce the impact of the slope on the useable space.  The main focus of the garden is the water feature which is intended to mask the traffic noise.

The garden was cultivated, stones & debris removed and the planting bed areas marked out.  The soil was graded to ensure that it was level and there were no ponding hollows.
The lawns were then seeded and the planting beds were planted with a mix of herbaceous perennials and shrubs.

Wire climbing supports were installed as necessary and climbing shrubs were planted at the base of the timber panel fence and walls.
